Carnival Princess Tia Foster is VIP guest at Kids Club
Date published: 04 August 2014
Six-year-old Tia Foster, who has a starring role in this year’s Milnrow and Newhey Carnival, was the VIP guest at the Snapper Jaxx kids club, which had a distinctly carnival feel.
Comic characters Marinda Maraca and Frederico Flapalot welcomed Tia and other youngsters, who made the most of the activities on offer including crafts, music, singing, dancing and interactive entertainment, to the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre.
For carnival princess Tia, who is a pupil at Sacred Heart RC Primary School, it was one of her first official duties since being crowned at this year’s Milnrow and Newhey Carnival.
Her mum Claire who took her to the event said: “Tia really enjoyed it and made two hats! It was really sweet because you saw lots of children wandering round the town wearing their creations afterwards.
“The characters were really welcoming and made the children and Tia feel very special. The whole event really captured their imagination.”
Lorenzo O’Reilly, Rochdale Exchange Manager, said: “The Snapper Jaxx set is very eye catching. There was lots of smiling and laughing.”
