Dozens of people turned out to support a Picnic in the Park event at Norden Jubilee Park on Sunday (3 August).
Opened by the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Carol Wardle, the event included an arts and craft stall held by The Star Tree Studio, face painting, a tombola, glitter tattoos, music, a Punch and Judy show and bouncy castles.
Mayor Wardle also had a stall at that the event to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity appeal. Mayor Wardle is raising funds for Springhill Hospice, Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home and Heywood Youth Link at Old Hucky’s.
Organisers also held a two minute silence to commemorate the centenary of the start of World War One.
The event was sponsored and funded by Rochdale Council through the township committee.
