Princess Elsa visits Shelly B’s Café

Princess Elsa at Shelly B's Cafe

Princess Elsa, from the hit Disney film Frozen, came to Rochdale on Sunday (20 July) and invited people to a party.

Princess Elsa threw the party to meet children from the local area and to help raise money for The Gem Appeal.

Organised by Gemma Singleton, from Singleton’s Dance Academy, with Shelly Buxton from Shelly B’s Cafe, the event was a first for Princess Elsa. Children were invited to lunch with the Princess and were also able to get photographs with her to remember the special day.

Gemma said: “It was a really good day and the event went really well. People were saying it was a brilliant afternoon and that the children really enjoyed it.”

Shelly added: “The visit had a great response and the children enjoyed having lunch with Princess Elsa. The parents also said what a lovely experience it was for the children.”

All money raised from the event will be donated to the Gem Appeal. The Gem Appeal raises money to help fund research into treatments for life threatening, genetic and metabolic disorders.

Gemma said: “The Gem Appeal is a Rochdale based charity but it is a charity that can help people wherever they are. This charity has no overheads whatsoever and every penny raised will go to the work that the charity does with and for the Willink Unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.”

It is now hoped that Princess Elsa will visit Rochdale on a regular basis with her next visit hopefully scheduled for August.

“Hopefully she will be coming back to Rochdale on a monthly basis, especially over the school holidays,” added Gemma.
