A charity car wash held by The Wash hand car wash and valeting on Bishop Street, Rochdale has raised £3,000 for SKT Welfare.
Tahir Shah, owner of The Wash, said: “It was brilliant. It went really well and we are really pleased with the money raised.”
The charity will now use the money to help with the relief effort in Palestine by helping fund medicine and everyday necessities to send to
the country.
SKT Welfare aims to help relieve the suffering of the world’s poorest communities and to make a difference to those who are most in need.
The charity operates a 100% donation policy so every penny donated will go to benefit children and poor people around the world.
“They seemed like a really good and genuine charity so we decided to help them with their work,” said Tahir.
Held on Saturday 19 July, Tahir was helped by staff from The Wash as well as his family and friends during the car wash and had a lot of
support from the local community.
“I have to thank everyone who helped and got involved. The local community really came out to support us and not only did they donate
but they helped as well,” said Tahir.
This is the second charity car wash to be held by The Wash. Last year, the company raised £1,320 to help send ambulances to Syria.
Tahir added: “We have doubled what we raised last year so it couldn’t have gone any better.”
