Guides return from thrilling adventure at Alton Towers

Date published: 16 July 2014

Girls from the Littleborough 21st Rochdale Guides have returned home from an exhilarating two day trip to Alton Towers.

The girls aged 10-14, enjoyed exciting adventures including camping in the grounds of Alton Towers, a visit to the water park and a day in the theme park.

Rachael Clegg, 14, said: “I really enjoyed spending the weekend at Alton Towers, it was great fun going on the different rides and sleeping in the grounds next to the rollercoasters was amazing.”

Group leader, Amy Bamford, said: “The trip to Alton Towers was a great chance for the girls to get away and enjoy each other’s company in a safe, girl-only space.”

“All the girls told me how much they enjoyed themselves and they can’t wait to decide where they want to go next and plan another adventure.”

Adventures like this are just part of the range of activities open to girls and young women through Girlguiding, which gives them their own space to grow in confidence, raise their aspirations and have fun.
