Bob Chadwick becomes Rochdale Rotary Club’s 88th President

Date published: 15 July 2014

Bob Chadwick became Rochdale Rotary Club’s 88th President at a handover ceremony on 3 July at Rochdale Masonic Hall.

Bob, who is a Senior Engineer for Highways at Rochdale Council, sees a "clear, if not busy, road ahead over the next Rotary year".

Bob said: “I’ve been formulating plans for a few months and now I have to get them ready to implement. Things are becoming very real.”

“The two main charities I will be supporting are the NSPCC Childline Schools Service and Mary’s Meals. I will also consider a fantastic local charity, The Gateway Centre, which provides activities for disabled people in the local area.”

“Particularly, I would like to fund an NSPCC volunteer for two years, which will deliver their service into Rochdale primary schools.”

On 30 August, Bob will be abseiling down the Town Hall clock to raise funds for The Gateway Centre.

“I’m looking forward to my year as President, and to all the other events and activities that our Committees will be organising and supporting.”

Past President of the Rotary Club, Neil Helliwell, and the other forty Rotarians and friends who attended the event, wished Bob a very successful year.
