Motorcyclist dies in a collision

A motorcyclist from Heywood has died following a collision in Oldham.
Around 7.05pm on Sunday 13 July 2014, a white Fiat 500 travelling north along Cross Street towards the junction with Huddersfield Road has been in collision with a motorbike, a black Honda Fireblade, travelling in the opposite direction from Shaw Road.
The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Heywood, was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Sergeant Kevin Woodward from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This man has sadly lost his life and we are investigating the full circumstances of the collision. We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would ask if anyone else saw the collision or either vehicle in the moments beforehand that they call us."
