Pedestrian falls down embankment at Hollingworth Lake

Date published: 12 July 2014

A pedestrian slipped and fell down the embankment at the back of Hollingworth Lake this afternoon (Saturday 12 July).

There was concern that the pedestrian had fallen into the Lake but police said this was not the case.

A mountain rescue team, fire crews, the ambulance service and police all attended the scene at approximately 3pm.

Nigel Stanley, who witnessed the incident, said: “This incident shows the need for a proper footpath next to the Lake; we have been lobbying for a footpath for years.”

Police have confirmed the pedestrian suffered no serious injuries.
