Craft Cottage coffee morning for Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home

Date published: 12 July 2014

Craft Cottage in Wardle held a coffee morning today (Saturday 12 July) to raise money for Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home.

Rebecca Hilton from Craft Cottage said: “We have done an event like this before for MacMillan Cancer but we thought we would do it again for a more local charity.”

As well as selling tea, coffee, cakes and cold drinks to those in attendance, the Cottage was holding craft activities for children.

Rebecca added: “It is ja chance for people to come together and have a drink and raise money for a good charity.”

The last event held for charity raised £80 with Rebecca hoping to raise as much as possible at today's event.

She added: “Anything we can raise today would be good. A lot of our regular customers have come along to support the event so that has been nice.”

Based on the response to today’s event, Rebecca hopes to hold more in the future.

“I think we will try and do them a bit more often. We have been asked before if we can hold them every month so they are certainly popular events,” said Rebecca.
