A design for a bus stop on Drake Street has now been produced following the successful campaign by local businesses and residents to have a stop reinstated.
It is understood that council officials will soon be speaking to interested parties regarding the stop with a formal consultation following.
Steve Reay, Highways Manager at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “We have now produced a design for the proposed bus stop on Drake Street and will be speaking to interested parties, including residents and business owners, over the next few weeks.
“We will then open a formal consultation, in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester, during which we will engage with key organisations before making a final decision later in the summer.”
Once work is under way on the stop, it should take around three months to complete.
