Mohammed Bashir sentenced for illegally dumping rubbish in Middleton
Date published: 10 July 2014
Mohammed Bashir 30, has been given a three year conditional discharge by Bury & Rochdale magistrates after he admitted to one count of failing to take all measures to securely dispose of waste.
Staff from Rochdale Council were called to Simon Lane, Middleton on 22 October 2013 after a member of the public spotted a pile of waste.
It is understood that a substantial amount of correspondence within the waste were addressed to Chapel Walk Convenience Store in Chapel Walk, Middleton or to Bashir.
Bashir, of Rainsough Brow, Prestwich, accepted that approximately half of the waste fly tipped was from his businesses and went on to explain that this had been removed by a gentleman whose name and address could not be verified.
Documentation was then shown to verify the disposal of cardboard and packaging through authorised channels but no documentation could be
produced in respect of the fly tipped waste.
Bashir, was also ordered to pay £435 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
