Redwood School RedAid fun day raises £1,800

Date published: 09 July 2014

A fun day held at Redwood Secondary School has raised £1,800 for RedAid – a charity that aims to help makes the lives of young people with disabilities and carers more enjoyable.

On the day, £1,600 was raised and a further £200 was donated by RRG Toyota bringing the total to £1,800. Money is still being donated to the charity with the school hoping to reach a total of £2,000.

The event, held on Friday 4 July, included a number of fun activities such as splat the staff, face painting, athletics, football, a sweet stall, a
petting farm, emergency service vehicles, Vietnam Jeeps, motorbikes, 1940’s dancing and music, a raffle and a BBQ.

A spokesperson for Redwood school said: “Staff, visitors and students had an amazing time.”

RedAid was set up by staff at the school a few months ago with the charity aiming to help children across the borough. The charity also hopes to be able to provide funding for projects helping disabled children and their families.

The school is now looking to hold further fundraising events in the future to continue raising funds for the charity.

Anyone wishing to still donate to the charity can do so by visiting:
