Royal Mail wipe Lower Falinge off the map!

Date published: 09 July 2014

Over 500 items of post, addressed to people living in Lower Falinge were returned to Rochdale Boroughwide housing (RBH) on Friday 4 July.

It is understood that copies of the tenant’s magazine along with important documents such as gas installation records were returned to RBH with Royal Mail stating that the "wrong address was used.”

A spokesperson for Rochdale Boroughwide Housing said: “RBH have always used the same format of address to write to tenants and residents in Lower Falinge, and we are very disappointed that in the last week a large number of mail items, including important documents such as gas installation records, have been returned to us undelivered. We are hoping to meet with Royal Mail as soon as possible to resolve this problem.”

A spokesman for Royal Mail said: “We would like to apologise to Rochdale Boroughwide Housing for the problems experienced with their recent mailing in the Falinge area. All mail items have now been delivered and we have agreed an alteration to our processes to prevent any recurrence of delivery problems in future.”

If any tenants have not received expected mail from RBH, they are encouraged to contact them on the freephone number: 0800 027 7769
