Littleborough celebrates the Tour de France in Hare Hill Park

Date published: 06 July 2014

Hare Hill Park was the next best place to view the world’s biggest sporting event for those who couldn’t make it to Blackstone Edge to see the Tour de France race today (Sunday 6 July).

LEAF (Littleborough Events and Association Forum) welcomed hundreds of people to the park to watch the event on a big screen - and a huge cheer went up as the riders came on screen at Blackstone Edge.

As well as the big screen, stalls were in the park from local businesses offering activities and crafts, and entertainment was provided before and after the race.

Children were entertained whilst they waited for the race with lots of fun and games including a climbing wall, mobile high ropes, boxing and lots of other activities.

Charlotte Wellens, Rochdale Online's photographer, was suspended from Chameleon Adventures mobile high ropes to capture the picture of spectators watching the big screen.

Rochdale Online would like to thank the staff from Chameleon Adventures for allowing Charlotte to use their equipment and be suspended high above the ground to capture this unique photo which captured the atmosphere of Littleborough celebrating the Tour de France in Hare Hill Park.
