Tour de France concert kicks off Tour de France weekend in Littleborough
Date published: 04 July 2014
Reckoner, Black Garter and Soul’d Out battled the rain and a few technical difficulties to entertain around 100 people who had gathered in Hare Hill Park this evening (Friday 4 July) to watch a concert kicking off the Tour de France weekend in Littleborough.
Organised by LEAF (Littleborough Events and Association Forum), the concert saw the three local bands perform on the bandstand in the park.
Steve Lister, Chairman of LEAF said: “It has been brilliant. Despite the few technical difficulties we have had to overcome it has been a really good evening and the bands have been excellent. We are seriously considering doing something like this again in the future.”
LEAF will be back in Hare Hill Park on Sunday (6 July) with a number of local school bands performing before the race is shown on a big screen.
Sunday events in the park begin at 11.00am.
