The fundraising team are finishing off transforming the Craven Heifer which will now be known as Springhill Hospice at the Craven Heifer. The painters are currently in and the kitchen is almost fitted.

The Hospice will be at the Dragon Boat Race tomorrow (Saturday 5 July) at Hollingworth Lake. Organised by the Round Table, the Hospice will have a big tombola with Springy the Hospice frog also making an appearance.

Saturday (5 July) night will see the second ‘Chaddy Ball’ take place. Last year over £10,000 was raised for the Hospice in memory of Andrew Chadwick. Held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester the night will include a champagne reception with a three course meal. Money raised from the event will go to Springhill Hospice and The Brain Tumour Charity.

Dates for the Diary

Saturday 12 July: Pyjama parade – The maximum number of people able to take part in the parade has almost been reached but the Hospice can take extra walkers. Anyone interested can contact the Hospice.

Sunday 20 July: Open Garden Day – Held between 11am and 3pm, members of the public are invited to look around the beautiful grounds of Springhill Hospice.

Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August: Yesteryear Festival – The yesteryear festival is a festival of all things yesteryear and is aimed at people of all ages. The festival will include military exhibitions, vintage cars, re-enactors, stalls, craft fair, vintage clothing, agricultural exhibitions, fairground and vintage entertainment.
