Speeding car collides with a house
Date published: 03 July 2014
At around 2.30pm today (Thursday 3 July), a police patrol spotted a car driving erratically on Milkstone Road, Rochdale.
Police signalled for the driver to stop after a check of the vehicle's number plate revealed no current keeper. The driver of the car, a Vauxhall Astra, failed to stop and sped off.
The police patrol pursued the car and a short time later, the vehicle was in collision with a house on Milkstone Road.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle and street bailed.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected broken arm.
Milkstone Road has been closed between Queensway and Deeplish Road while the stability of the house is assessed.
