Woman pulls knife from her chest after being stabbed

A woman pulled a knife from her chest after being stabbed in Heywood.
Sometime between 11pm on Monday 30 June 2014 and 2am the following morning, a 49-year-old woman was assaulted and stabbed on her legs and chest during an incident in farmland off Norden Road.
During the attack she pulled the knife from her chest before raising the alarm.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to stab wounds to her leg and chest and facial injuries, including a broken nose.
She remains in a stable condition.
John Swallow 14/11/1968, of Norden Road has been charged with Section 18 Assault (causing grievous bodily harm with intent) and possessing cannabis.
He was due to appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday 3 July 2014.
