Wardleworth Community Centre Carrom Board Tournament

Date published: 01 July 2014

Wardleworth Community Centre hosted a Carrom board tournament on 24 June.

Carrom is a board game of Eastern origin, similar to billiards and table shuffleboard. The game is very popular in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and surrounding areas.

After a number of weeks of training and introducing the game to the community, Wardleworth Community Centre decided to organise a tournament.

The tournament took place at the community centre and had eight teams competing for the trophy.

Wardleworth Community Centre manager, Mohammed Doulot Miah, said: “The tournament is a good way of getting people involved and sharing information about the game.

We hope to provide more training to our players, and introduce the game to the wider community.”

Wardleworth Community Centre would like to thank Mr Foysol Ahmed for sponsoring the trophies and providing refreshments.
