Reveille at flag raising played by local pupils
Date published: 25 June 2014
Skye Wilson, Rachael Clegg and Hannah Timperley, three players from the Wardle Academy Youth Brass Band, played Reveille at the flag raising ceremonies for Armed Forces Week at Milnrow and Littleborough.
Skye, Rachael and Hannah were fine representatives of young people as they provided the pomp and ceremony required for the occasion.
At Milnrow, the Deputy Mayor, Surinder Biant, gave a speech and at Littleborough, the Mayor, Carol Wardle, spoke of our indebtedness to the Armed Forces.
After the flags were raised, prayers were read.
Councillors Martin Rodgers and Janet Emsley attended the Milnrow ceremony and Councillors Janet Emsley, Janet Darnborough and Ann Stott were at the Littleborough ceremony.
