Date published: 24 June 2014

As his last social function of his year Rotary District 1280 Governor Ged Hetherington attended a Tea Party at St Aidan’s Church on Sunday 22 June.

The President of the Rotary Club of Rochdale East Donald Stewart is completing his second term as President of the Club and has been a member of Rotary for over forty years.

In recognition of his service to Rotary the Club awarded Donald an upgrade to his Paul Harris Fellowship, which was presented by the District Governor.

Named after the founder of Rotary International, Paul Harris, these awards are for exceptional service to the movement and the community.

Donald received a Fellowship with two sapphires, one of the highest awards and is the first member of Rochdale East to receive the honour.

Over sixty members and guests attended the party to show their support and affection for Donald.
