Sports day with a difference
Date published: 23 June 2014
It was all children on the go at St John with St Michael CE Primary School in Shawforth as they held a sports day with a difference.
The children were split into 4 teams, red, blue, yellow and green and they were each sent to different stations throughout the morning to take part in a wide range of sporting activities
they showed off their skills by doing activities such as welly throwing, stick toss, wall climbing, balance-beam, cyber coach aerobics, distance frisbee, tunnel run and we even had Martin join us from Rochdale Football Club to do a "beat the goalie" activity.
There were also a lot of parents and friends who joined us to cheer the children on later in the morning with the races including the egg and spoon race and three-legged race.
The sun shone all morning, and lifted everyone’s spirits.
The children had a wonderful time and showed good team spirit and egged each other on.
