Go Wild Seasonal Pond Dip at Hollingworth Lake

Date published: 22 June 2014

Families joined together at the Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre’s ‘Dipping Pond’ on Saturday (21 June).

A group of around 15 children and parents were joined by a park ranger from the centre to take part in a pond dip.

As part of the pond dip, the children dipped their nets into the pond trying to capture different pond life, and then emptied their findings into water filled tubs. The children were encouraged to identify and analyse the creatures by using charts and magnifying glasses.

The day was a part of the ‘Go Wild’ series of events hosted by the Visitor Centre.

The next pond dip will take place on 12 July at the Visitor Centre. This will be a free event, sponsored by Friends of Hollingworth Lake.
