Rosettes all round for On Track Dog Training School

Date published: 21 June 2014

Members of On Track Dog Training School achieved rosettes all round after competing in a two day obedience show.

Three members of the school won rosettes with both of their dogs:

  • Barbara Slack with Spice and Pepper (Shetland Sheepdogs).
  • Shelley Sandiford with Flow and Sam (Labradors).
  • Maria Ferguson with Cassie and Maverick (Golden Retrievers).

Caroline Middleton and Scout (Large Munsterlander) won their class and achieved first place again.

Other winners included:

  • Peter Yates and Pepper (German Shepherd Dog).
  • Emily Arch and Jasper (Border Collie).
  • Martyn Wilcock and Murphy (Border Collie).
  • Joanne Borg and Abbi (Labrador).
  • Marie Helliwell and Indy (Working Cocker Spaniel).

Cath Phillips, Owner and founder of the school said: “It was tremendous. Altogether we won 27 rosettes between us all and we thoroughly enjoyed it.”

After the success of the event, Cath has now seen an influx of people wanting to learn obedience skills.

She said: “We had a lot of people from the group come along and watch the show and that has kind of motivated people to do obedience so I have been busy this week doing that.”

It is now hoped that a new breed of trainers will compete in upcoming obedience shows.

Cath added: “We have about 20 people competing in a variety of disciplines now so hopefully we will see a new influx of people competing at obedience shows next season.”
