Man stabbed in the face in Heywood

A man was stabbed in the face during an incident yesterday afternoon (Thursday 19 June).
Police and paramedics were called to Hind Hill Street, Heywood at around 3:45pm following reports that a man had suffered an injury.
The man, believed to be in his late 20s, suffered a slash wound to his face and was taken to Wythenshaw hospital.
It is understood that the attack happened opposite the Newmarket Hotel.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the incident and added: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”
