Fault which caused one thousand homes to be without power in Littleborough fixed
Date published: 17 June 2014
An underground cable fault, which is to blame for one thousand Littleborough residents being left without power on Sunday 15 June, has been permanently fixed.
The incident occurred at around 9pm on Sunday night, with some residents believing they heard an ‘explosion’ before the power went out.
An engineer was immediately called to the scene, and managed to restore the power to most homes during the night.
As of yesterday (16 June) the power to all homes affected had been restored and the cable fault was permanently fixed.
A spokesperson from Electricity North West confirmed that the damage to the road, caused by the fault, will be repaired in the next few days by themselves.
“We’re sorry for the inconvenience. If anyone needs any more information about the situation, please call 0800 195 4141.”
