Oulder Hill Community School

Date published: 16 June 2014

Every week at Oulder Hill, in our Year 8 Assemblies, we celebrate the achievements of our students.

This week’s Celebration Spotlight on Achievement Awards go to: Mnahil Mustafa, for her consistent hard work and effort in English; Jake Harris, for his superb effort in his Design Technology project and our Year 8 Rugby Team (Matthew Greenwood, Jordan Parkhill, Daniel Madeley, Callum Ruffell, Eddy Riley, Jack Turner, Hakeem Gbajabiamila and Hayden Lewis) for finishing second in in the RFU’s ‘All Schools’ Competition. Special mention must go to Holly Norbury who, this week, receives the Oulder Hill Year 8 Homework Oscar for her wonderful design of Fireman Packaging in Design Technology.

A Year 7 Science Rewards trip to Chester Zoo will be taking place on Tuesday 24 June. Students going on the trip will be leaving school at 8:30am and are due to return at 4:00pm (traffic depending). We hope they have a fun, educational day!

The Year 11 Leavers Assembly takes place on Thursday 26 June at 9:45am. Students wishing to attend the assembly need to be in full school uniform. This will be a celebratory event where students can get together on the day of their Prom to reminisce and say goodbye to their friends and teachers.

In the evening, the Year 11 Prom will take place at The Riverside, Whitworth. The School Prom is an amazing, memorable event and we are very much looking forward to our students celebrating their successes and achievements with us that night. This is always a wonderful event where staff and students come together to celebrate their time at Oulder Hill.

Friday 27 June is an INSET Day. School will be closed to students, and reopen as normal on Monday 30 June.

The Year 9 Rounders Team played a league match against Cardinal Langley. We lost 7-4 but our team played great, making some brilliant catches and stopping lots of rounders being scored. Well done to the students involved: Sophie Charlton (player of the match), Samiya Karamat, Jenna Oldham, Olivia Storto, Ella Hilton, Katie Fitton, Lydia Entiwstle (year 8), Moet Griffiths and Zara Ahmed.
