‘Kick Off the Summer’ at Moorclose

Date published: 16 June 2014

Live music, a rubberised obstacle course, rodeo bull, fun photo booth and children’s five-a-side football are just some of the attractions on offer at Moorclose, Junction and Baytree Tenants and Residents Association’s ‘Kick Off the Summer’ event on Saturday 21 June.

The fun takes place at St George’s Playing Field, Moorclose between 12 - 4pm and organisers are urging people to come along.

For those who work up an appetite refreshments will be available courtesy of burger and ice cream vans and a beer tent.

Subject to call-outs, officers from the police and fire services will also be there to talk about their work.

Another major feature will be the chance to find out more about the association’s Memory Project which, with the help of local residents, is creating a picture-book history of the neighbourhood down the decades.

John Green, chairman of the association, said: “It promises to be a great afternoon with a wide range of fun for all the family.

“I hope as many residents as possible will come along to celebrate our community past and present.

“We are especially keen to see youngsters come along and have a good time while also learning more about the history of the area through the Memory Project.”
