On Track Dog Training School compete in obedience dog show

Date published: 14 June 2014

Members of On Track Dog Training School have taken part in an obedience dog show today (Saturday 14 June).

Eleven members of the club took part in the show, which was held at Littleborough Rugby Union Football Club.

The show was being run by Preston and Fylde German Shepherd Dog Club.

There were a number of different disciplines in the show with dogs having to demonstrate skills including heel work, stay exercises and lead work.

Cath Phillips, owner and founder of On Track Dog Training School, said: “It can be quite a testing competition because of some of the things the dogs have to do.”

All of the dogs taking part from On Track Dog Training School were beginners.

“We regularly take part in competitions like this but we also do a variety of competitions throughout the year,” said Cath.

On Track Dog Training School was set up in 2000 in Smallbridge, Rochdale with the aim to bringing a reward-based method of training to local dog owners.

The competition is held over two days and will continue tomorrow (Sunday 15 June).
