Trows Lane Lodge undergoing improvement work

Date published: 14 June 2014

The Lodge at Trows Lane has been looking a bit dry of late but this is due to the Rochdale and District Angling Society undertaking improvement work as well as tidying the area up to improve things for fishing.

President of the Society, John Hooper said: “We haven’t had any damage or any bursts or anything; we are just trying to improve the area for fishing.”

It is anticipated that the Lodge will be filled up again within a few weeks after being drained before the work.

John added: “In a few weeks time it should be full up again. It does look a bit different at the minute but we are working on it.”

The Rochdale and District Angling Society, which has around 300 members, currently leases the Lodge but does own a lot of the land around the Lodge.

“It is a big complex and the Club is spending a lot of time and money to improve it,” said John.
