The Statements are a five-piece Indie Rock band, emerging out of Rochdale. The band has just released their debut album, ‘Stand Divided’, and they are currently working on a new EP.

The band consists of Andrew Whitehead on Lead Vocals, Sean Kinahan on Drums/Percussion, Ian Douglas on Guitar/Backing Vocals, Mathew Nation on Guitar/Backing Vocals and Nick Quinn on Bass Guitar. The band name The Rolling Stones, The Who and The Beatles as their influences.

Over the last two years, the five-piece have performed at a variety of venues throughout the North West. Most notably, they performed a headline gig at Manchester Academy and also appeared on Liverpool’s Cavern Club Main Stage.

Sean said: “We’re just working class lads who want a record deal. The music always comes first.

“We’re currently working on a four track EP which should be finished by the end of June. We’re also going to film a music video soon, and the EP launch will be in September.”

The Statement's next gig will be on the 23 August at The Waggon Inn, Milnrow.
