Middleton Township Committee meeting as it happened

Councillor June West is appointed as chairwoman of the committee.

Councillor Pat Greenhall is appointed as the vice chairwoman of the committee.

A PACT meeting takes place before the rest of the township meeting.

Issues regarding traffic, the sale of alcohol and cyclists are discussed with the police.

The open forum is next.

Issues regarding parking, the embankment and the community centre are discussed with councillors.

Councillors agree positions on other relevant committees.

Councillors agree to go ahead with the clean and green scheme for another six months.

The outcome of the Tetlow Street proposed residents parking received a yes response of 85%. The council is now planning to go ahead with the residents parking.

The outcome of the proposed residents parking for the Mill Fold Area received a yes response of 75%. Councillors have agreed to not include West Crescent, as they didn’t want the scheme in the first place. Residents parking will go ahead on East Crescent and Mill Fold.

A decision on Durnford Street residents parking has been deferred after Councillor Neil Emmott asked for ward councillors to discuss
the results further.

Councillors agreed the school governing body vacancies.
