Rochdale Township Committee meeting as it happened

Councillor Sultan Ali is appointed as the chairman of the township.

Councillor Shaun O’Neill is appointed as the vice chairman of the committee.

An update from the police informs the committee of a drop in crime.

There has been a small increase in crime in Healey and Norden.

Castleton, Kingsway and Hare Hill Park have been marked as hotspots for anti social behaviour but police are seeing a reduction.

Councillor O’Neill praises the police to responding to an incident within eight minutes.

Councillor Farnell also praises the police for helping with the reduction in incidents within Balderstone and Kirkholt.

There are no questions in the open forum.

Councillors are appointed to other relevant committees.

The Rochdale township funds are agreed.

The disposal of land at High Street, Rochdale is discussed next.

The original proposal discusses the disposal of the land to the RSPCA. A new proposal states that the council is looking to sell the
land at market value for the potential of development. If not successfully sold, the land will be leased to the RSPCA.

Councillors agree the nominations for school governing body vacancies.
