Pennine Township Committee Meeting as it happened

Councillor Aftab Hussain has been re-elected as the chairman of the township committee.

Councillor Janet Emsley has been elected as the vice chairwoman of the township committee.

There are no questions in the open forum.

An update from the police states that they are on target for a reduction in crime.

Operation Rockport, which has been undertaken by the police, has received a positive response from youths in the area.

The committee appoints councillors to positions on other committees.

A regeneration and facilities group is set up and will be chaired by Councillor Neil Butterworth.

The committee note the report regarding Pennine Township funds.

The refurbishment of Milnrow Clock is discussed next.

Councillors agree to recommendation 2.1, which states that councillors consider and approve the views of the township chairman and ward councillors, which is not to proceed with the scheme.

The Durn development brief is next and is a draft brief for consultation.

The council is hoping to develop on the site and is looking to the township to go ahead with consultation before any decisions are made.

The school governing body vacancies are agreed by councillors.
