Middleton Popstars Academy has received a grant of £500 from the Rotary Club of Middleton.
The grant will be used to help with purchasing a projector for the Academy’s new and recently opened Bojangles Theatre.
Anne Marshall, Director of the Academy said: “We would like to thank The Rotary Club of Middleton for their continued support both via this grant and the assistance they have given in the past. This grant has been awarded just at the right time as we have recently opened our new theatre.”
Middleton Popstars Academy is a performing arts centre located on Morton Street. It offers its students singing lessons, dance lessons as well as opportunities to undertake make-up, costume design and media. The academy was established ten years ago and is run as a not-for-profit community group and is open to all.
Lee Wolf, Chairman of the Rotary’s Community Service Committee, said: “I have visited the academy on quite a few occasions and always impressed with the work of the academy and the fantastic effort Anne puts in day in, day out. The Rotary Club of Middleton is pleased to provide Anne and the academy with this grant so that their community work can continue and the academy can grow and grow.”
