The Mayor of Rochdale, with representatives of Link4Life and Rochdale Council cabinet member for Leisure, Councillor Martin Burke, welcomes award winners to the Town Hall in 2013
Only 50 days to go to recognise its own local sporting heroes. If you know a person or club that has made a difference through sport in your neighbourhood or community, then nominate them for the Rochdale Borough Sports Awards 2013/2014.
The categories for nomination are:
- Club of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
- Sports Achiever of the Year
- Volunteer in Sport of the Year
- Unsung Hero in Sport Award
- Changing Lifestyle Recognition Award
Nominations should cover achievements during the period September 2013 to July 2014.
The criteria is set on the quality of the nomination and not the number of nominations each individual gets. Individuals and clubs can nominate themselves.
Julie Durrant, Community Sports Development Officer of Link4Life said: “Link4Life is once again delighted to announced that it will once again be organising the ever popular Rochdale Borough Sports Awards Ceremony – in partnership with RMBC. We have so many sports clubs and volunteers in the borough who improve people’s lives and many talented athletes, so we want to make sure they get the recognition they deserve.”
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at the Rochdale Rugby Club on Wednesday 17 September 2014 and they will then go on to be considered for the Greater Manchester Sports Award to be held on Friday 7 November 2014 at The Point, Lancashire Cricket Club in Manchester.
Complete the short form below. Closing date is Friday 25 July 2014.
