Further power disruption for Littleborough

Date published: 04 June 2014

There has been further power disruption in Littleborough today (Wednesday 4 June) after a fault at the local substation caused the loss of power to 30 customers.

Clive Jones, a resident in the area, said: “There is something going on because we have been having power cuts on and off for the past three days and they last for about an hour.”

The latest power to cut to have affected Clive happened at around 6.00am this morning. He added: “There are about five or six properties hooked up to a generator now with all of the cables in a daisy chain style along the street and through the letterbox.”

A spokesperson for Electricity North West, said: “A fault at the local substation caused the loss of power to 30 customers in the Stansfield
Meadows area of Littleborough at 9.44pm last night.

“Our engineers arrived on site and restored power to the majority of customer around midnight and the remaining seven customers were restored at 9.57am this morning.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and if customers would like any further information they can contact us on 0800 195 4141.”

It is understood that engineers are still working at the substation so customers may still suffer shortages of power.

The final seven customers to have the issue dealt with are being fed from a separate part of the substation so may still be having issues whilst the problem is being resolved.
