Bands needed for Tour de France concert
Date published: 03 June 2014
Organisers of a concert to kick off the Tour de France weekend are looking for bands and musicians to take part.
The concert, which will be held at Hare Hill Park on Friday 4 July, was originally planned as a rock concert but plans have recently had to change.
Steve Lister, Chairman of LEAF (Littleborough Events and Association Forum), who is helping to organise the concert, said: “We are looking for anyone who would like to get involved really. We have had offers from a traditional jazz band so anything different to that would be welcomed.”
It is understood that the Rock Choir and the Little Funk Jazz Orchestra have already been contacted to be part of the concert.
Bands and musicians looking to take part would be asked to perform for up to an hour as part of the concert.
The festival will be the start to a number of events planned for the area to celebrate the Tour de France passing through.
Anyone interested in getting involved can contact Steve Lister on 01706 373371 or via stevelister1@live.co.uk
