Water survey success is crystal clear
Water supplier United Utilities has achieved 99.9 per cent compliance with demanding EU quality targets.
Company CEO Steve Mogford said, “Our customers continue to benefit from our robust water supply and demand balance and high levels of water supply reliability across the North West.”
The achievement was revealed in United Utilities’s year-end figures.
The report also revealed the water utility cut its carbon footprint by 11 per cent in the 12 months ending in March this year.
In 2013-14, its carbon dioxide equivalent was 449,042 tonnes.
The figures mean the water supplier has reduced its carbon emissions by 23 per cent since 2005-6.
The north west of England water and sewerage firm holds a licence to provide services to seven million people and businesses.
