Oulder Hill Community School

Date published: 02 June 2014

A big well done to Oulder Hill Community School Year 7 and 9 Girls Rounders teams. They played Hollingworth last week, unfortunately they did not win but the girls were brilliant.

Players for the Year 7 Team were: Natalia Dec, Melissa Hardman, Katie Hicks, Brooke Needham, Natasha Downton, Abi Raby, Abi Holt, Alan Percy and Holly Fitton (player of the match).

Players for the Year 9 Team were: Olivia Storto (joint player of the match), Jenna Oldham (joint player of the match), Ella Hilton, Sophie Charlton, Katie Fitton, Alina Akbar, Zara Ahmed, Lydia Entwistle (Year 8) and Jessica Harrison.

Congratulations to the Year 7 & 8 Boys Cricket Team who took part in the Lancashire Cup Cricket Competition. Unfortunately, they were knocked out in the second round by Bolton Grammar School.

Oulder Hill were expecting a tough game as Bolton are currently Under 13 County Champions and have quite a few players who represent Lancashire in the team.

Although Oulder Hill made only 45 runs all out, Bolton Grammar were on the rocks at one stage and were 22 runs with four wickets down. However, this was only a temporary blip for Bolton and they knocked off the remaining runs with overs to spare.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed the day and the experience of playing at such a fantastic venue.

Players involved were: Emerson Bradshaw, Thomas Booth, Marcus Welsby, Ben Whitehead, Daniel Devine, Lewis Midgley, Mohid Ul Haq, Babar Rashid, Adam Latif, Hayden Lewis, Ismail Shahzada, Harry Toogood and Abraham Khan.

Year 7 students will be visiting Burrs Activity Centre, Bury throughout the week, taking part in outdoor and team building activities. We hope all the students involved have a good week, and the weather is favourable to them!

On Thursday 12 June, we are proud to be hosting our annual ‘Not Strictly Eurovision’ event, where students from some of our local primary schools will be taking part in a music and language spectacular. There will also be performances from last year’s winners and runners-up.
