Restraining order for creepy sex pest

Date published: 31 May 2014

A restraining order has been slapped on a "creepy" sex pest who groped a woman in his car then followed her into a night club and sexually assaulted her again.

Mohammed Jamil Hussein (35) of Greave Avenue, Rochdale, was found guilty by Oldham magistrates, who imposed the 12-month restraining order to prevent him contacting the unnamed woman.

Hussein was also given a two-year community order, placed on the sex-offenders’ register for five years and ordfered to pay £100 in compensation and costs of £210.

The victim and her friend left an Oldham town centre pub at 11.30pm and saw Hussein in a parked car. He said he had vodka and told them to get in the car. The 25-year-old woman sat in the front seat and Hussein stroked her leg then tried to put his finger in her mouth. The pair got out of the car and went into Tokyo nightclub.

Hussein followed them in and put his hand up the victim’s long dress and tried to touch her chest. She brushed him away then moved away, but Hussein followed them until they left at 3.30am.

In a statement the victim said: “This man was creepy — I was frightened. I don’t want to think what could have happened if we were ever alone.”

Defending, Michael Salt said: “His actions were a grave mistake on his part. He never should have asked the ladies in to the car. It’s a pity they chose to get in, which encouraged him.”
