Padmini Sankar wins Fusion Public Service Award 2014

Padmini Sankar, a doctor of foetal medicine from Rochdale, was presented the Public Service Award at Fusion 2014.
Padmini is a doctor of foetal medicine working for four hospitals across the North West. Her role as a Foetal Medical Advance Practitioner Ultra-Sound sees her work in Oldham, Rochdale, Fairfield and North Manchester hospitals.
Padmini likes to get involved with charity work and she runs a series of community events, including helping to organise the annual Sakthi event, which is now in its 17th year and held at the Ramsbottom Civic Hall.
She said, “I feel extremely elated. It seems magical. What I have done in the past I was not expecting any reward. I can’t believe it.”
Other Rochdale finalists this year included the Lower Falinge Junior Wardens who were finalists in the Youth Leadership Award and Health worker Robina Malik who was nominated in the Woman of the Year Category.
