NSPCC Masquerade Ball raises £5,000
Date published: 16 May 2008
Rochdale Town Hall was the setting for a grand Venetian style Masquerade Ball that raised £5,000 for the NSPCC, organised by the Rochdale District Committee. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception in the foyer on the evening, wearing elegant gowns, black tie and elaborate masks. A three course meal followed with powerful performances from talented opera singers from the Royal Northern College of Music filling the Grand Hall. Guests then danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Steve Massam.
Chairwoman of the Committee Veronica Pierce said: “The event was a great success and we were delighted to raise such a large amount of money that will directly help local children in Rochdale and help fund Childline, a vital resource for children suffering abuse.”
The committee would like to thank the sponsors, especially PGC Demolition (Heywood) and Testing Calibration Services Ltd, the Town Hall management staff, those who gave raffle prizes and donated generously on the evening.
