Pupils Complete Level 2 Health Qualification

Date published: 27 May 2014

14 Year 10 and 11 pupils have completed the Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement qualification.

The course is designed to make the public more aware of issues affecting their health, including lifestyle and societal factors.

As part of the course the pupils have had to complete a series of ‘health chats’ with people from the wider community, record their findings and signpost where the they could make improvements in their health.

The pupils then sat an exam. The course was run by Jeremy Roberts from Rochdale Training Association.

All the pupils who studied the qualification have shown an interest in a career in a health related area and volunteered to undertake a one day workshop during one of Wardle Academy’s Deep Learning Days. This was then followed by a revision session and a formal exam.

On Thursday 22 May, Mark Whittaker from Rochdale Training came into school to present the pupils with their certificates.

Deputy Headteacher Mrs Fisher was also present to congratulate the pupils on receiving their certificates.
