Lauren and Beth Forsyth make Britain’s Got Talent semi finals

Date published: 26 May 2014

Lauren and Beth Forsyth, sisters from Castleton, have made the semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

The sisters are part of CountryVive, a line dance act that impressed the judges with their first audition.

Talking about their first performance, judge David Walliams said: “You are the answer to our prayers. A dance group with a difference.”

Alesha Dixon added: “That was so infectious and thank you for bringing amazing energy to the show, that was brilliant.”

Amanda Holden described the group as “absolutely brilliant” and added: “It was full of energy, fun, sexy and had everything going.”

Judge Simon Cowell was also impressed with the group and said: “You have taken it to a whole new level. This is great and one of the best things we have seen today.”

The group, who received a yes from each judge, found out during Sunday's (25 May) show that they had made the semi finals and will perform tonight (Monday 26 May) for the public vote.

Lauren works as an estates manager and also teaches competitive line dancers.

She started line dancing at the age of five, since then Lauren has won 24 world titles and is now a top judge at World Dance Masters competitions all over the world.

Beth, 17, has been dancing since the age of six and has achieved many World and European championship titles. Last year she represented the UK in China and won a bronze medal, at just 16 the youngest competitor.

Beth is currently studying A levels at Rochdale Sixth Form.

If successful, the group will make the finals of the show and will be one step closer to fighting for a place on the Royal Variety Show.

The act is made up of 19 members from across the UK. Their first performance aired during the first show of this series on Saturday 12 April.

Tonight’s (Monday 26 May) show is live on ITV from 7.30pm.
