Two men battered with a baseball bat in their own home by intruders

Two men were battered with a baseball bat when intruders burst into their home in Heywood.
Sometime between 9.30pm and 10pm on Monday 12 May 2014, the offenders entered the house on Olive Street, Heywood.
They proceeded to attack the two men who live there with baseball bats.
A 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries while a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to cracked ribs.
Both offenders were white, between 20 and 25 years old, of medium build and between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall.
Pc Steve Farnell, said: “Quite why these two men were subjected to a brutal baseball attack in their own home is unknown.
“At this time there is no clear motive for the incident and I would encourage anyone in the community with information about the assault, the people responsible or any information about why the address or occupants may have been targeted to get in touch.
“We will treat your information in strict confidence.”
