Inspector Pawson says: "We have been receiving reports about adults cycling on the footpath in the Dearnley area without giving due consideration to other users of the pavement. This has resulted in some collisions and conflict between cyclists and pedestrians.

"We would like to remind these cyclists that it is an offence to cycle on the footpath and doing so could result in them being issued with a fixed penalty notice or being summonsed to court. We will be monitoring this situation and will take enforcement action where necessary."

This is a scam used by fraudsters to obtain your bank cards and PIN.

Remember:

  • Never surrender your cards to anyone on the doorstep
  • Police and banks will not use couriers to collect cards from your home
  • Never disclose your PIN or bank details over the phone – the Police and banks do not need your PIN and would never request it
