Scattering poppy seeds to remember World War 1
Date published: 19 May 2014
Kenzie and Ellie with the schools poppy seeds donated by local bussneses and Whitworth councillors
Members of local businesses in Whitworth along with Councillor Alan Neal and other members of Whitworth Town Council and Rosendale Council have very kindly donated poppy seeds to St John with St Michael CE Primary school in Shawforth to plant as part of the World War 1 Centenary.
The aim is to scatter the poppy seeds where ever the pupils go, and they will grow and remind them of World War 1's Flanders Fields.
This is going to be exciting and the school is going to involve local community members as well as friends and family to scater these seeds around the area.
