Album Review: Rebecca Knox – Crazy Love

Date published: 17 May 2014

Rochdale singer Rebecca Knox is due to release her first album Crazy Love in August.

The album has been supported by fellow Rochdale singer Lisa Stansfield and has been described as a “very up tempo yet soulful” album.

Crazy Love consists of twelve tracks and having had a preview copy, your reporter agrees that the album is certainly up-tempo and the songs really make you want to get up and dance.

Rebecca’s voice is full of the soul and passion and her songs will no doubt be included on playlists.

Stand out tracks include Shake Watcha Mamma Gave Ya, Hit Me With Your Love and You Won't Change Me. Theese tracks really show off Rebecca’s voice and give a real flavour of what the album has to offer.

Slower songs on the album include I’m Yours, Going Solo and Never Been.

Whilst my preference is for the more upbeat songs, the slower tracks are still well worth a listen.

Comparisons will undoubtedly be made to Lisa Stansfield and even though this is a huge compliment, Rebecca will understandably be want to be known in her own right and not as another Lisa.

Rebecca has a lot to offer and with her already having plans for album number two, I’m sure this is not the last we have heard of her.

Rochdale should be proud of producing another great talent.

Crazy Love is available from 4 August and as a digital download from Monday 26 May.
