Music concert shows off the talents and skills of local children

Date published: 17 May 2014

A music concert was held this afternoon (Saturday 17 May) to show off the talents and skills of local children.

The concert, which was held by the The New Life Christian Fellowship at St Luke’s church in Deeplish, included a number of musical performances from the church Sunday School as well as the involvement of people from outside of Rochdale, including Manchester and London.

Pastor Andre Diba Musangu said: “We try and include the whole of the community and bring people from different communities together. Today we reached out to other members of our church in London and Manchester and got them to come along today.”

The church hall at St Luke’s was filled with people celebrating the children’s talents.

“We have done these concerts before but this is the first time we have done it with the children,” added Andre.

The New Life Christian Fellowship began in 2002 and is an independent church, which has many people of African and French, speaking origin.

Andre added: “We are expecting around 80 children to be involved today and we think that it is important to celebrate our children and their talents.”
